Fashion, Fun, and Self-Love By Minahil Hussain
After bidding adieu to 2024, there’s a growing sense of excitement and anticipation about what 2025 has in store. The past year introduced many new trends, movies, TV shows, books, and more, all leaving their mark on the world. We can only hope that 2025 brings the same level of impact and innovation.
Team Mindful came together to explore everything our readers can be “mindful” of and look forward to as we step into 2025.
Fashion
2025’s Soft Spot: Suede
Suede is the fabric to watch! This trend is set to take over the Spring/Summer 2025 season, making a bold statement across everything from accessories to skirts and outerwear. We can also expect a rise in matching sets, with suede blazers paired with suede skirts or trousers for a chic, coordinated look.

Paint 2025 Yellow
Let’s bring 2025 to life with yellow! Vanilla Yellow, in particular, is going to be a key color this spring. After the earthy tones of browns, beiges, and blacks that defined the end of 2024, we’re ready for a splash of color—and yellow is the perfect choice. From soft, creamy shades to the bold warmth of saffron, this lively hue is set to dominate the Spring/Summer 2025 season.
Chic, Sporty, 2025
Elevated sportswear is here to blend chic with casual. Brands like Adidas and Puma are revamping sportswear for a sophisticated comeback. From laid-back shirts and slacks to trendy ensembles, this style is perfect for the summer months. On the runways, labels like Casablanca and Ferragamo have redefined activewear, using luxurious materials and bold color schemes to highlight the more feminine side of sports fashion.

TV Shows
The excitement for the final season of “Stranger Things” is palpable as we eagerly await how the story concludes in the Upside Down. We’re also looking forward to “The White Lotus” season 3, ready to dive back into the chaos that defines the show. Another show we’re hoping lives up to its predecessor is “Suits LA.” Having binge-watched “Suits” on Netflix, we’re hoping its spinoff will capture our attention just as much.

Literature
With exciting books lined up for release, we’re eager to get our hands on them. Here are the ones we’re most excited about:

The Sufi Storyteller by Faiqa Mansab
In this contemporary murder mystery, an estranged mother and daughter urgently need to reconnect and navigate a world of sufi story traditions to catch a killer, and to save each other.
Layla, a scholar specializing in women’s histories and stories, lives a life shaped by routine at a small American liberal arts college. But when a woman is found dead in the library, everything she knows is about to be upended.
Mira, a renowned Sufi storyteller, is running from a painful past. Upon learning that the murdered woman had a note addressed to her from the killer, Mira sees a chance to break free from the cycles of trauma that have long defined her life. But to do so, she must reveal the truth to Layla.
Together, they enter the world of Story. But can Layla find the forgiveness she needs in her heart to help them uncover the truth?
All the Water in the World by Eiren Caffall
All the Water in the World is an on-the-edge-of-your-seat work of cli-fi about what happens when rising sea levels destroy Manhattan, forcing a 13-year-old and her family to escape in a canoe from a museum exhibit.
The Vanishing Point by Paul Theroux
A new collection of short stories from Paul Theroux is tied together by life’s “vanishing points,” where seemingly disparate perspectives converge and nothing further can be seen. It’s a fittingly ambitious theme for a legendary author.
Real Relaxation
A trend we’re hoping to see in 2025 is “calmcations”—holidays focused on true tranquility. These are getaways where the goal is to relax in reality, not just curate the perfect moments for social media. Whether it’s exploring the serene northern areas of Pakistan or enjoying the quiet retreats along the Norwegian coast, the aim is to unplug and experience real peace and quiet.
In 2025, let’s prioritize being present and fully enjoying our experiences, rather than striving for a digital footprint. It should be a year of reconnecting with ourselves, fostering positivity, and embracing self-love.
