Mindful launches it’s first digital cover with the iconic Atiya Khan.
Credited as one of Pakistan’s first supermodels, Atiya Khan is celebrated for paving the way for future generations in the fashion industry. Not only did she become a powerful face in editorials and on runways, but also proved her mettle as a producer, director, presenter and actor for commercials. Her contribution to Pakistani media itself makes her a force to reckon with, but what truly makes Atiya an obvious choice as our first cover star is her commitment to self-discovery and growth.
Today, along with achieving acclaim in the aforementioned undertakings, she owns a clothing brand, “Arizai”, which is an ode to her embracing the path of Sufism. Atiya’s interest in Sufism first grew when she met her teacher, Shaykh Nazim, in 2001. Since then, she’s produced content to promote Sufism and Islam through a wide variety of channels. She also has a deep understanding of the responsibility each one of us has towards the world and is always making efforts to give back; to her people, to her culture and to the environment. Our cover, featuring Atiya, represents this exact shared conviction.
With the beautiful French beach in Karachi as her backdrop, Atiya exudes poise and grace in an off-white Sufi jacket and long Buddha dress – both from the new collection at Arizai. This is our way of welcoming 2023 in harmony and being environmentally conscientious. We urge our readers to do the same; together we can combat the devastating effects of climate change on marine life.
Wishing you and your loved ones a fulfilling New Year- with new aspirations, knowledge and good health!
