Apple Crumble
Warm, buttery apple crumble with a cinnamon-spiced filling—this is the ultimate fall comfort food.
Ingredients:
● 6 apples (Gacha or Granny Smith)
● 2 tbsp cornstarch
● 4 tbsp brown sugar
● ½ tsp cinnamon powder
● 1 tbsp lemon juice
● 2 tbsp water
Crumble:
● 1 cup all-purpose flour
● 6 tbsp brown sugar
● 6 tbsp caster sugar
● ½ tsp salt
● ½ tsp cinnamon powder
● 1 tsp baking powder
● 120 g cold butter
Instructions:
● Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
● Prepare the apples by peeling them and cutting them into cubes. In a skillet or baking dish, combine the apple cubes with cornstarch, brown sugar, cinnamon powder, lemon juice, and water. Toss until the apples are evenly coated.
● Make the crumble by combining the flour, brown sugar, caster sugar, salt, cinnamon powder, and baking powder in a bowl. Cut the cold butter into small cubes and rub it into the dry ingredients using your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
● Assemble the crumble by spreading the apple mixture evenly in a baking dish. Sprinkle the crumble mixture over the apples, and add a sprinkle of brown sugar on top if desired.
● Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the apples are bubbling.
● Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a cozy treat!
