In this conversation, we gain insight into TWC’s vision, the intricacies of wedding planning, and how they are revolutionizing the process to create a seamless and joyful experience for families.

Q: What inspired you to start The Wedding Company, and how did you identify the need for an internationally driven wedding planning agency in Pakistan?
Pakistan’s wedding industry is one of its largest, with last year’s market reaching a staggering 100 billion. However, there has been a significant gap in the professional wedding planning and management sector. While in the West, GCC, and even India, weddings are typically managed by professional planning companies, families in Pakistan still handle most of the work themselves. To bridge this gap and provide much-needed services, we decided to launch The Wedding Company—a one-stop shop for all your wedding needs.
Q: How does The Wedding Company differentiate itself from traditional wedding planning services in Pakistan?
The Wedding Company is Pakistan’s first internationally-driven wedding planning agency. We are a full-service agency specializing in the execution of luxury events. We work closely with our clients to conceptualize tasteful events that reflect their signature style. In an industry often marked by chaos and last-minute decisions, TWC ensures your event is handled with professionalism and care. We offer 360-degree wedding solutions, including decor, food, catering, invitations, gifting, designer outfits, makeup, photography, guest management, hotel accommodations, transportation, security, and entertainment. We handle it all, tailoring each service to fit our clients’ budgets and needs.
Q: Can you share an example of a particularly challenging wedding you planned, and how you managed to pull it off?
The most challenging wedding we planned was organized in just two days. The couple decided to have their Nikkah and wanted us to manage the event. With the help of our dedicated decor, food, catering, venue, photography teams, and even an artist, we successfully executed everything within that tight time frame. Despite the short notice, everything went smoothly and stress-free for our client, who was so pleased with our service that they entrusted us with managing all their other events as well. Planning a wedding during peak wedding season, with such a short window, was a daunting task, but also incredibly rewarding. We believe teamwork is the key to success, and although we faced many challenges, maintaining strong relationships with our stakeholders made it all possible.
Q: What’s the most extravagant or unique theme you’ve ever executed for a wedding?
Every desi wedding is extravagant and unique in its own way. While all our weddings are distinct, one particular NRP wedding we planned at the beginning of our career stands out as exceptionally elaborate. With at least 80 international and 300 local guests, it was a major undertaking. Not only did we manage the events, but we also coordinated the entire trip itinerary and special activities for our international guests. This included arranging exclusive polo matches, securing special access to historic sites, providing a dedicated wedding concierge, and so much more. The client wanted us to showcase the beauty and architecture of Pakistan, highlighting both its cultural heritage and modern advancements. That wedding remains incredibly special to us.
Q: Pakistani weddings are known for their amazing food. In your experience, which dish is the ultimate crowd favorite?
Most weddings nowadays offer different cuisines with a lot of dessert options, but if you ask us about the ultimate crowd-pleaser, it would definitely be anything to do with mutton. Pakistanis love to eat mutton!
Q: If you had to plan your dream Pakistani wedding, what would it look like?
Our dream Pakistani wedding would be a destination wedding in the northern areas of the country, like Skardu or Hunza, with just close friends and family in attendance. We want to educate people about the concept of a destination wedding in Pakistan, as many believe it’s expensive and difficult to pull off. In reality, by cutting down on unnecessary details, you could have a small, intimate wedding at a fraction of the cost in some of the most breathtaking locations imaginable.

Q: What is your ultimate vision for The Wedding Company, and how do you see the wedding planning industry evolving in Pakistan over the next five years?
The ultimate vision of The Wedding Company is to make Pakistani weddings hassle-free, innovative, unique, and more experiential. We also aim to establish among our audience that larger-scale weddings require a professional team to manage them. In the next five years, we want to create a market where the first step people take once they decide to get married is to hire a wedding planner. Additionally, we strive to popularize the concept of intimate, cost-friendly destination weddings.
